Future of hybrid working in the UK requires the right balance amid skills shortage, Hays UK and Ireland finds

18 December 2023

Employers across the UK will continue to navigate the right balance between bringing workers back into the office and allowing them to work remotely in 2024, according to Hays UK and Ireland’s director of permanent appointments and UK & Ireland construction and property Gaelle Blake.

In an audio interview with Hays UK and Ireland, Staffing Industry Analysts discusses the future of hybrid working in 2024 and beyond.

SIA interviewed Gaelle Blake, following publication of a recent report which found more professionals in the UK are now working full time in an office setting than those who are working in a hybrid way.

In the interview, Blake said organisations feel like they have not quite reached the balance in hybrid working yet.

Amid a skills short market, Blake said that employers should think about what they are aiming to achieve by having them come into the office, how many days are required in the office and to make sure they are adequately prepared for their days in the office and to collaborate in the workplace.

The interview is part 3 of SIA’s interview with Blake. Part 1 can be found here and part 2 can be found here.
