France – Thousands of British jobs could be moved to Paris, Finance Minister says (Reuters)

09 March 2018

Reuters reports that several thousand British jobs could go to Paris due to the EU Referendum, according to French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire. He added that the several thousand jobs will “come gradually and not over one day.” The French government has also reportedly been actively seeking to convince banks to move jobs to Paris and introducing incentives like tax breaks and pledges to open more English language schools for bankers’ children. Le Maire said that banks might conclude it would be easier to expand in Paris as it could be more complicated to offer services across the EU from London after Brexit.
