France – Temporary employment rises 8.6% in November

Temporary employment in France grew by 8.6% in November compared to last year, according to data from Prism’Emploi, the French association of employment agencies, which added that November was the 35th consecutive month of growth in temporary work.

Temporary employment rose in all sectors including transport (17.4%), industry (9.5%), services (6.2%), trade (3.6%) %) and construction (2.6%), in November, when compared to last year.

Prism’Emploi’s data also showed that temporary employment increased on an annual basis in November for managers and professionals (13.5%), as well as unskilled workers (10%), employees (8.4%) and skilled workers (5.4%).

Among the regions, the Bourgogne Franche-Comté region showed the highest growth in November at 18.8% compared to last year. This was followed by Brittany (13.0%) and Grand Est (12.4%).

Eurostat’s figures showed that the unemployment rate in France for November stood at 9.2%.
