France – More than 3.5 million hires expected this year: The Adecco Group

The Adecco Group in France is forecasting 3.58 million new hires in France in 2019.

The Adecco Group’s barometer, ‘Data Jobs and Territories’, found that of those 3.58 million hires, 39% will be on permanent contracts, 30% on fixed-term contracts, 23% on temporary appointments and 9% on internships and apprenticeships. 

The barometer is based on a predictive analysis methodology developed by Adecco Analytics.

The Adecco Group’s barometer added that many trades and sectors activity are experiencing a skills shortage, while half of the companies feel they will have a hard time recruiting this year.

Among the regions, Ile-de-France and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region rank at the top in terms of new hires at 21% (753,988) and 13% (467,991), respectively.

Among the job sectors, the trade sector ranks at the top with more than 544,000 planned new hires. This was followed by the construction sector at more than 354,000, however this sector was reported to experience a skills shortage. Of the top ten sectors, seven reported experiencing skills shortages.
