France – Jobijoba acquires recruitment chatbot startup JAI

06 February 2019

France-based recruitment solutions provider Jobijoba announced that it has acquired The Jobs Artificial Intelligence (JAI), a chatbot specialist solutions provider for recruiters.

Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

JAI was founded in January 2018 by CEO Valérie Touraine and Chief Technology Officer Willem Browne.

JAI’s pre-trained and pre-designed chatbot conducts the first stage of prequalification application of candidates with a virtual assistant that can answer questions as well as helping candidates find a job offer and apply for it.

Candidates can ask questions such as “How does the recruitment process work?” or “Where’s the company HQ?”.

JAI can also ask candidates questions about their job search including questions such as, “What type of contract are you looking for?”, “What are your salary expectations?", and “What is your available start date?”.

Jobijoba stated that with its CV-Catcher tool, candidates will also be able to upload their CV through JAI’s chatbot, which would analyse it in real time and suggest suitable positions.

Valérie Touraine, CEO and co-founder of JAI, commented, “Our solution is now an opportunity to deliver the best candidate experience, while also making the job of recruiters easier with automated pre-qualification. We’re looking to accelerate business and product development in 2019, which is why we’re happy and proud that our technology impressed Jobijoba – a pioneer in artificial intelligence in the recruitment sector in France. This new move will enable us to step up development of the solution with the assistance of a complementary key player”.

According to LeMondeInformatique, Jobijoba intends to offer the chatbot RH Jai to companies with which the company already works, including the Adecco Group and PageGroup.
