France – Jobfeed publishes online job offers, commerce sector shows decline in 2018

Approximately 8 million unique job offers were online in 2018 in France, according to data from Jobfeed, Textkernel's big data tool for online vacancies.

The data is based on the analysis of millions of job offers collected by Jobfeed between 1 January and 31 December 2018 and included the detection and exclusion of duplicates.

The commerce sector made up 16.3% of job offers, down from 16.9% in 2017. This was followed by Industry/Technical which made up 13.1% of job offers, steady from the previous year.

According to Jobfeed, the professional field of trade/sale/real estate remained the profession with the biggest market share (11.9%). This was followed by industries and crafts with a 9.1% market share.

At the regional level, Nantes and the Pays de la Loire recorded the highest growth in job offers with a 0.5% increase in market share over the year.  Paris was the city with the most job offers, followed by Lyon.

The Army, the Hospital Federation of France and Engie, an energy and services company, are the three biggest recruiters in France.

Meanwhile, the Education/Training/Research sector has made the most progress in 2018.

Jobfeed also published the list of staffing firms with the most job offers with Adecco Group France ranking at the top, followed by Groupe Randstad France and Manpower France.
