France – Freelance.com corrects its H1 turnover after finding accounting error

French online staffing platform, Freelance.com (EPA: ALFRE), said it had detected a material error in its H1 2018 results, which were published in August 2018.

The group said its sales in France amounted to €63.8 million, instead of the €66.3 million it reported earlier this year which led to a rectified group turnover of €88.9 million instead of the €91.2 million it stated in its results earlier this year.

No further information on the nature of the error was provided. However Staffing Industry Analysts attempted to reach out to Freelance.com but did not hear back before publication.

Under the revised results, H1 2018 turnover increased by 17% when compared to the same period in the prior year.

In France, Freelance.com posted sales of €63.8 million in the first half of 2018, representing 72% of the group's consolidated total.

Internationally (Germany, Morocco, Singapore, Switzerland), activity also grew by 22% in the first half of 2018 to reach €25.1 million (28% of total sales). Freelance.com stated that activity in Switzerland maintained its strong growth at 22%, like Morocco, which achieved growth of 21%.

The group said its ambition for 2018 remains resolutely to continue to achieve a steady increase in its turnover, continuing to deliver double-digit growth, while continuing to improve its results.

On Friday, shares fell by 0.55% on the day. Based on its current share price the company has a market value of €57.34 million.
