Executive chairman of executive search firm accused of becoming ‘nearly violent’ (The Irish Times)

11 August 2023

Peter Casey, the executive chairman and founder of Claddagh Resources was accused of abusive and bullying behavior and becoming “almost violent” at a meeting where he fired an executive from his executive search firm, The Irish Times reported. Casey is a prominent Irish businessman having been a former Irish presidential candidate in 2018 and a panelist on Ireland’s version of the television programme Dragon’s Den. The allegations came to light in the Labour Court where the former executive, Michael O’Sullivan, is appealing a ruling by the Workplace Relations Commission, which awarded him only EUR 250. Casey did not appear in the Labour Court hearing, but the company’s solicitor categorically denied that Casey was aggressive or abusive.
