Europe – Straco acquires Welten Group

03 January 2023

Belgian private equity group Straco has acquired Welten Group, a finance recruitment firm, from Dutch private equity firm One Two Capital.

Financial details were not disclosed. The transaction is subject to approval from the relevant competition authority.

Welten Group is a finance secondment agency in the Netherlands that both mediates and trains in-house on its own learning platform and with its own customised learning content.

On September 2022, Welten announced that it had acquired Careercafé Secondment, a temporary employment agency also based in the Netherlands.

Chris Baelemans, CEO of Welten Group, said, “In addition to banks, insurers and pension institutions, we increasingly match financial talent with organisations in the public domain. By also growing internationally, we offer our finance professionals even more career prospects. Straco helps us realise that international dream.”

Casper Bannet, Managing Partner of One Two Capital, said, “One Two Capital acquired Welten in May 2021 and has achieved all the objectives it set itself in the past period. Over the past year and a half, we have taken successful steps with Welten to increase volume.”

Maarten Peers, Managing Partner of Straco, added, “We are very focused on looking for growth gems like Welten in the European market. The growth and development that Welten has shown in the past period is impressive. We believe in the company's strategy and fully support the ambition and growth plans of Welten's management.”

On April 2022, Straco acquired Labour Power Company (LPC), a group of companies in the Netherlands specialising in the mediation of flex workers.
