Europe – Groupe Adéquat acquires Dutch temp employment firm CONNECT

28 January 2019

French staffing firm Groupe Adéquat announced that it has acquired a 100% shareholding in Dutch technical temporary employment agency CONNECT.

No financial details of the transaction were disclosed. CONNECT will continue under the same name with the existing management team and employees remaining with the company.

Founded in 1992 by Director Marc Meijer, CONNECT specialises in temporary employment in highly technical fields (aeronautics, automotive, shipbuilding, agri-food, mechanical engineering) and construction. It currently employs thirty staff in ten offices and, in 2017, had a turnover of €20 million.

CONNECT stated that as part of Groupe Adéquat, it has the opportunity to grow faster while retaining its unique business characteristics.

"The acquisition came from a sense of commitment," Jérôme Rieux, Groupe Adéquat CEO said. "It was almost immediately clear that the CONNECT management shares our vision, standards and values. CONNECT is an interesting company, with a huge growth potential and activities that fit seamlessly with our portfolio. "

Caroline Meijer, General Manager of CONNECT, added, "From the first meeting with the management of Groupe Adéquat, we were enthusiastic about the potential synergy between our two organisations. This acquisition offers us a great opportunity to grow further within a solid and ambitious organisation.”

Groupe Adéquat, founded in 1987 by French entrepreneur Jean-Marc Brun, stated that its entrance into the Dutch market is perfectly in line with the plans announced in 2018 to expand in ten countries over the next five years and to eventually enter the top 25 global companies on the market.

Last year, Groupe Adéquat entered a strategic partnership with Irish recruitment firm Sigmar Recruitment.  Later that year, the company acquired Canadian-based recruitment firm Totem.
