Estonia – Average time spent working for one employer on the decline (Baltic Times)

29 March 2019

The average period that Estonian residents spend in the employment of one employer has declined to three years and four months, compared with four years and six months five years ago, reports the Baltic Times, citing survey data from recruitment firm Brandem. At the same time, the annual turnover of personnel has grown from 22% to 30.3%. Among sectors, the average time spent with one employer fell in most sectors monitored compared to five years ago. Within information and communications and finance and insurance, the average time has remained between five and six years through the years while the average time spent with one employer has increased in the mining sector. Brandem, citing data from Statistics Estonia, pointed to a link between personnel turnover and wage growth as the sectors with the quickest personnel turnover also had the fastest wage growth.
