Dutch temporary staffing hours and turnover trend downward

The temporary employment sector in the Netherlands saw a decrease in hours while turnover also fell during the second period of 2024 (week 5 – 8, starting 29 January), according to the Dutch Federation of Private Employment Agencies (ABU).

In period 2, the number of hours decreased by 10% and turnover decreased by 2% compared to the same period last year. 

In the administrative sector, the number of hours fell by 18% and turnover fell by 8% compared to the same period last year.

Meanwhile, in the industrial sector, the number of hours decreased by 5% and turnover increased by 2% compared to the same period last year.

ABU’s research also showed that in the technical sector, the number of hours decreased by 9% and turnover decreased by 1% compared to the same period last year.
