18 July 2022

IT services giant Infosys Ltd. (INFY: NSI) last week announced a deal to acquire Base life science A/S, a technology and consulting firm in the life sciences industry in Europe. Base is headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Infosys estimated the cost of the acquisition to be EUR 110 million, including management incentives, bonuses and retention.

“This acquisition augments Infosys’ deep life sciences expertise and expands our footprint further in the Nordics region and across Europe and scales our digital transformation capabilities with cloud-based industry solutions,” Infosys President Ravi Kumar S. said.

Base posted revenue of EUR 26.6 million in its fiscal year ended 30 June.

Base was founded in 2007 and has nearly 200 life science domain experts. It offers business consulting and technology services to life sciences firms. In addition to Denmark, it has offices in Switzerland, the UK, Germany, Spain, Italy and France. Base is owned by its founders, partners and employees.

Plans call for the acquisition to close during Infosys’ fiscal second quarter ending 30 September. It’s subject to customary closing conditions.
