Croatia – Government allocates $212 million for a 9-measure plan to boost employment

The Croatian government has allocated HRK 1.5 billion (USD 212.8) million for a nine-measure plan to aimed at boosting employment and helping jobless people who are on the margins of the labour market.

This set of measures goes into effect on 2 March, Thursday, and includes subsidies for job creation, self-employment, up-and-re-training, casual employment, and other steps that can boost employment. The Croatian government also stated that HRK 650 million (USD 92.9 million) would be used from the European Social Fund for this plan.

"The measures will contribute to the country's economic stability and growth, and will facilitate the availability of employment opportunities," Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic said. He added that it was part of his cabinet's activities aimed at economic growth and development.
