Contract Watch: Pion Group signs recruitment agreement with Ahlsell Sweden

11 December 2023

Pion Group (POOL-B:STO), the Swedish staffing firm, announced it has concluded an agreement with Ahlsell Sweden AB.

Ahlsell is a distributor of installation products, tools and supplies for installers, construction companies, property managers, industrial and power companies and the public sector.

The group has a turnover of approximately SEK 50 billion and has roughly 7,500 employees, over 300 stores and four central warehouses. In Sweden, Ahlsells has approximately 4,000 employees, 300 stores, several subsidiaries and one of Sweden's largest logistics centres.

The newly signed agreement regulates recruitment and staffing services for the Swedish operations.

Fredrik Svenson, senior key account manager at Poolia Sverige AB, which is Ahlsell's formal contractual partner, said, “The assignment suits us very well, both in view of Ahlsell's geographical presence and its skills needs. We as a group will be able to assist with support throughout the country in all areas, which I understand is something that has been important to Ahlsell in the procurement and why they chose us as a partner.”

According to the Pion Group, Ahlsell's need for recruitment and staffing extends deep and wide, and in the agreement, among other things, they can call on specialist skills from Poolia and Uniflex in terms of shop assistants, indoor and outdoor sales and construction logistics services, as well as IT specialist skills from Qrios.

Jenny Bruhn is Human Resources Business Partner at Ahlsell Sweden, said, “Ahlsell's vision is to build a more sustainable society and our employees are a key factor for success. The companies in the Pion Group share our view on diversity, equality and sales culture and we will work together to reach our goal of 40% female employees and 30% female leaders by 2025. With the collaboration, our managers will also receive strong local support with skills provision and to further increase our employees' job satisfaction."

Earlier this year, Pion Group named Nils Carlsson as the new group CEO.
