Belgium – Temporary workers’ hours decrease in March: Federgon

The number of hours worked by temporary agency workers in Belgium in March 2019 decreased by 1.91% when compared to the same period the year before, according to Federgon, the Belgian Federation of Staffing Agencies.

Temporary workers in the white-collar sector reported an increase, year-on-year, of 0.93% in March 2019, while the blue-collar sector reported a decline of 3.90%

When compared to February 2019, the number of hours worked by temporary agency workers increased by 0.84%. This was due to growth in both the white-collar (0.94%) and blue-collar segments (0.76%).

The Federgon index reached 112.79 points in March 2019 compared to 111.86 points the month before. This index reports the level of activity in the month under review compared to January 2007 (=100), on a seasonally adjusted basis.
