Belgium – Temporary agency workers’ hours down in September: Federgon

The number of hours worked by temporary agency workers in Belgium in September 2019 fell by 6.67% when compared to the previous year, according to Federgon, the Belgian Federation of Staffing Agencies.

The decrease was due to the number of hours worked by temporary agency workers in the blue-collar sector decreasing by 7.51% and the white-collar sector decreasing by 5.48%.

When compared to the previous month, the number of hours worked by temporary agency workers fell by 1.29%. The blue-collar segment saw a 1.11% decrease while the white-collar segment decreased by 1.53%.

The Federgon index reached 107.06 points in September 2019 compared to 108.45 points the month before. This index reports the level of activity in the month under review compared to January 2007 (=100 points), on a seasonally adjusted basis.
