Belgium – Temporary agency workers’ hours down in May: Federgon

The number of hours worked by temporary agency workers in Belgium in May 2019 fell by 8.81% when compared to the previous year, according to Federgon, the Belgian Federation of Staffing Agencies.

The decline was due to the number of hours worked by temporary agency workers in the blue-collar sector decreasing by 9.91% and the white-collar sector decreasing by 7.21%.

When compared to the previous month, the number of hours worked by temporary agency workers decreased by 2.13%. The blue-collar segment saw a 2.49% decline while the white-collar segment fell by 1.65%.

The Federgon index reached 108.06 points in May 2019 compared to 110.42 points the month before. This index reports the level of activity in the month under review compared to January 2007 (=100), on a seasonally adjusted basis.
