Belgium – Federgon: Temporary workers’ hours fall in December 2018

The number of hours worked by temporary agency workers in Belgium in December 2018 decreased by 3.69% when compared to the same period the year before, according to Federgon, the Belgian Federation of Staffing Agencies.

Temporary workers in the white-collar sector reported a decrease, year-on-year, of 1.62% in December 2018, while the blue-collar sector reported a decline of 5.30%

Federgon also reported month-to-month figures showing that the number of hours worked by temporary agency workers increased slightly by 0.79% in December 2018 when compared to November 2018. At the same time, the blue-collar segment reported a decrease of 0.71% while the white-collar sector reported an increase of 0.89%.

The Federgon index reached 113.17 points in December 2018 compared to 112.28 points the month before. This index reports the level of activity in the month under review compared to January 2007 (=100), on a seasonally adjusted basis.
