Around the Web – Zero tolerance against Irish agency workers

Hospitals in Ireland have been told to adopt a new zero tolerance approach to using agency workers in a move to cut down spending in the healthcare sector, the Irish Times writes. According to the paper, national director for integrated services Laverne McGuinness at the Health Service Executive (HSE)) told managers to reduce hospitals’ reliance on agency staff, particularly at weekends. She said controls should be implemented to achieve a new zero tolerance to the use of agency staff.
