ZeroChaos must provide $61,191 in back pay

August 12, 2010

ZeroChaos agreed to pay $61,191 in back wages to 81 employees, the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division reported Wednesday, although the company said it did not agree with the division's assessment of the workers' status.

The company erroneously classified several employees as exempt, didn't pay premium half-time pay for overtime hours worked and didn't include bonuses when computing overtime pay, according to the division.

"During the time period in question, ZeroChaos has worked with more than 60,000 employees and resources and while we disagree with the assessment of the exempt status of these 81, we have agreed to this settlement with the Department of Labor," said ZeroChaos CFO Doug Goin.

Orlando FL-based ZeroChaos provides payrolling/independent contractor compliance and other services.
