The number of U.S. initial claims for unemployment benefits fell 2.5% to 614,000 in the week ended June 27 from the previous week's revised number of 630,000, the U.S. Department of Labor reported today. The four-week moving average of claims fell 0.4% to 615,250 from the previous week's revised average of 618,000.
