The National Journal reported that a huge barrier to the Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act that could speed up the visa system for highly skilled workers was removed by Senate Judiciary Committee Ranking Republican Chuck Grassley. The removed “hold” would ease the backlogs for applicants from India and China by removing per-country quotas on permanent work visas. Read more here.
