In the week ended Sept. 15, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial unemployment claims was 311,000, a decrease of 9,000, or 2.8%, from the previous week's revised figure of 320,000. The four-week moving average was 320,750, a decrease of 3,500 from the previous week's revised average of 324,250.
