Texas area posts lowest jobless rate among large metros

Austin-Round Rock, Texas, had the lowest unemployment rate in July, 3.5%, among US metropolitan areas with populations of 1 million or more, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario, Calif., metropolitan area posted the highest jobless rate among large metro areas at 7.1% in July.

Bismarck, ND, posted the lowest jobless rate in July among metropolitan areas of all sizes in July at 2.3%. Yuma, Ariz., and El Centro, Calif., had the highest unemployment rates at 26.6% and 24.2%, respectively.
