Texas area posts lowest jobless rate among large metros

Austin-Round Rock, Texas, had the lowest unemployment rate in June, 3.3%, among US metropolitan areas with populations of 1 million or more, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Salt Lake City followed with an unemployment rate of 3.6%.

The Las Vegas and Memphis, Tenn., metropolitan areas posted the highest jobless rates among large metro areas at 7.0% each in June.

Lincoln, Neb., posted the lowest jobless rate in June among metropolitan areas of all sizes in June at 2.6%. El Centro, Calif., posted the highest jobless rate at 22.6%.
