Texas Staffing Jobs Rise by 6% Over Year

Texas added 14,500 jobs in the “employment services industry” in April compared to the same month a year ago, a 6.0 percent increase, for a total of 258,000, according to data from the Texas Workforce Commission that was not seasonally adjusted.

The employment services industry includes temporary help services as well as employment placement agencies, executive search services and professional employer organizations.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, total nonfarm employment in Texas rose by 13,200 jobs, or 0.1 percent, month-over-month in April to almost 10.8 million. Year-over-year, Texas added 225,800 jobs in April.

Texas’ unemployment rate fell to 6.9 percent in April from 7.0 percent in March, seasonally adjusted.
