Texas Firm Acquires Colorado PEO

November 26, 2012

Resourcing Edge, a Rockwall, Texas-based professional employer organization, acquired Aspen Resource Partners, a Colorado Springs, Colo.-based PEO. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Aspen’s Byron McCurdy, a former NAPEO president, will remain with Resourcing Edge as vice president of the Western division. The purchase extends Resourcing Edge’s footprint into Colorado and provides Aspen with needed enhancements.

Aspen, whose clients include high-tech firms as well as grey-collar clients including golf courses and landscaping companies, hired a consultant to seek out its buyer.

“We felt that Resourcing Edge had enhanced IT systems and enhanced projects and shared our core values,” said McCurdy. “They can help take us to the next level as far as our growth strategy.”

Although McCurdy’s primary focus will be the Colorado market, expansion into other intermountain west states is probable.

Aspen will operate as Resourcing Edge after Jan. 1, and the combined company will have offices in Colorado, Arizona, California, Oklahoma, New Jersey, Texas and Georgia.
