May 22, 2012

Only 3 percent of recent college grads plan to stay at any given job for more than five years, according to a survey by Adecco Staffing US. And 33 percent plan to stay at any given job for only three years or less.

The survey also found that 21 percent would stay at a job for only three months if they didn’t like it.

In addition, grads are getting job-search help from parents with 13 percent saying parents used their own network to get them a job and 11 percent saying their parents help them locate or research job listings, according to the survey. In addition, 3 percent said a parent joined them in the interview room.

The telephone survey was conducted by Braun Research, Inc. on behalf of Adecco and included 500 college graduates of four-year degree programs between the ages of 22 and 26.
