Survey: 25% of Lawyers to Hire

September 19, 2011

Twenty-five percent of lawyers said their organizations plan to add legal jobs in the fourth quarter, according to a survey of attorneys by Robert Half Legal, a division of Robert Half International Inc (NYSE: RHI).

Areas expected to see the most growth are litigation (20 percent of respondents), bankruptcy/foreclosure (18 percent) and labor and employment law (14 percent).

Laywers, paralegals and legal secretaries are the top three positions in demand.

The survey included 200 telephone interviews with lawyers. Of the respondents, 100 were at firms with 20 or more employees and 100 were at companies with 1,000 or more employees.
