Staffing firms sued over worker misclassification

March 27, 2009

A federal lawsuit says Bryn Mawr PA-based staffing firms incorrectly categorized healthcare workers as independent contractors. The lawsuit says Delta-T Group Inc. and Delta-T Group Social Services Staffing Inc. also didn't pay workers overtime owed and didn't provide access to benefits.

Plaintiff in the lawsuit is Temi Bamgbose, who worked out of the companies' Ambler PA office. It seeks class-action status.

The suit could involve a variety of healthcare workers based on who the firms employed, including nurses, said Rebekah Bailey, an attorney for the plaintiff. The lawsuit doesn't involve the client companies at this time.

Delta-T has not yet responded to requests for comment.
