Staffing Industry Analysts announced today it promoted Barry Asin to president. Asin had served as the firm's chief analyst and managing executive.

Asin has more than 20 years' experience working with Fortune 1000 companies and staffing firms on contingent labor strategies and programs.

Asin takes over from Managing Director Ron Mester, who ran Staffing Industry Analysts for the past eight years. Mester managed the firm through a period of significant growth, including its successful acquisition by Crain Communications in 2008.

In addition to Asin's appointment, Staffing Industry Analysts also promoted:

• Dana Shaw to senior VP of strategy and solutions
• Hinda Chalew to senior VP of marketing and interactive services
• Jon Osborne to VP of research

John Nurthen will continue in his role as general manager of Europe.

Asin joined Staffing Industry Analysts in 2003. He had previously served in a senior executive role at Adecco SA. Prior to Adecco, he held operations management positions at Pepsico. Earlier in his career, he had worked for Andersen Consulting, the predecessor to Accenture.

Asin has a master's degree in business administration from Harvard University and a bachelor of science degree in engineering from Princeton University.
