Select Taking on Mainstay’s Commercial Business

April 15, 2011

Select Staffing is taking on the commercial business of
Mainstay Business Solutions, the California
temporary staffing company that ceased operations Tuesday.

In a letter to Mainstay clients, Select Staffing, based in Santa Barbara, Calif.,
said it transitioned client accounts effective April 4. Existing phone numbers
will forward to Select offices, and many Mainstay representatives will stay on
their accounts, according to the letter.

The Sacramento Bee had reported that a majority of Mainstay’s
approximately 7,000 placed workers will maintain employment through other
staffing companies. Mainstay had been in a dispute with the California Economic
Development Department over allegations that Mainstay owes the state $16.4
million, according to the report.
