Russell indexes to include Volt

June 16, 2015

Volt Information Sciences Inc. (NYSE MKT: VISI) will join the Russell Global Index when Russell Investments reconstitutes its US and global equity indexes June 26, the company announced today. Volt will be added to the Russell Global Index, the Russell 3000 index and the Russell microcap index.

The annual Russell Indexes reconstitution captures the 4,000 largest US stocks as of the end of May, ranking them by total market capitalization. Russell determines membership for its indexes primarily by objective, market-capitalization rankings and style attributes.

“Inclusion in the Russell Indexes is an important milestone for us and will help raise our visibility within the financial community as we continue to focus on expanding margins in our staffing operations and exiting non-core businesses,” said Volt CEO Ron Kochman.

Russell indexes are used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for active investment strategies. Approximately $5.7 trillion in assets are benchmarked to the Russell Indexes.
