Robert Half Revenue Up 22%

Robert Half International Inc. (NYSE: RHI) second-quarter revenue rose 22.0 percent to $938.0 million from revenue in the year-ago quarter of $769.1 million.

“We saw broad-based, improving demand for our professional staffing services and Protiviti both in North America and abroad,” said Chairman and CEO Harold Messmer Jr . “Our permanent placement and technology staffing divisions were particularly strong,” Messmer said. “The pricing environment also continued to improve during the quarter, which contributed to higher gross margins.”

By division, second-quarter revenue rose on a year-over-year-basis by:

17.2 percent at Accountemps to $345.3 million
25.4 percent at OfficeTeam to $188.7 million
28.5 percent at Robert Half Technology to $105.1 million
21.7 percent at Robert Half Management Resources to $113.3 million
43.7 percent at Robert Half Finance & Accounting to $80.7 million

Second-quarter gross margin rose to 39.7 percent from 37.7 percent in the year-ago quarter.

Net income jumped to $36.4 million from $12.2 million in the second quarter of last year.

Robert Half estimates third-quarter 2011 revenue will rise between 15.0 percent and 21.1 percent over third-quarter 2010 revenue.
