Reform: 62% say they must add doctors

April 23, 2010

A survey by AMN Healthcare Services Inc. (NYSE: AHS) found that 62% of healthcare executives said the new healthcare reform legislation will cause them to add more doctors.

Also, 56% said healthcare reform will cause them to add more nurses, and 56% also said it will cause them to add more allied healthcare professionals.

However, almost three quarters said healthcare reform will have a negative financial impact on their facilities, and more than 60% said reform will have a somewhat or very detrimental effect on the quality of care.

The survey was sent by e-mail to 7,000 healthcare executives on April 7, and 172 responses were received by April 15.
