Randstad Holding NV and Vedior NV shareholders last week approved Randstad's acquisition of Vedior, the world's third- and fourth-largest staffing firms. The approvals were a final hurdle in the merger, which will become effective Tuesday.

The combined companies will rank as the world's second-largest staffing firm.
