H. Britt Landrum Jr., founder of Landrum Companies, is celebrating 40 years in the staffing industry after starting his firm on Aug. 3, 1970. Landrum started out with one secretary and himself covering his office; now the company has more than 100 internal employees. The Pensacola FL-based Landrum Companies include Landrum Staffing, Landrum Consulting and Landrum Professional.

Abbott Staffing Group, a Southern California staffing firm, announced that Seth Stein was promoted to president. Stein has been with The Eastridge Group of Staffing Companies, of which Abbott Staffing Group is a subsidiary, for 12 years. In addition, Abbott promoted Lina Savage to area manager of direct hire and April Bethencourt to area operations manager for temporary staffing.

CoWorx Staffing Services LLC promoted Ken Sudnikovich to executive VP. Sudnikovich has more than 25 years of experience at CoWorx and previously served as senior VP. He also serves as an officer on the board of directors of the New Jersey Staffing Alliance and as chairperson for the programs/education committee.

Sapphire Technologies hired Jason Maroney as regional manager of its southeast region, overseeing company offices in Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville and Tampa FL and in Atlanta. Maroney has 15 years of experience in the staffing industry. Sapphire is an IT staffing division of Randstad Holding NV.

Medical Connections Holdings Inc. (OTCBB: MCTH.OB), a Boca Raton FL-based healthcare staffing firm, appointed James Wallace to serve on its board of directors. Wallace has owned and operated surgery and spinal care facilities in Georgia and has been active in venture capital, according to the company.

Russell Reynolds Associates, an executive search firm, announced that Christopher Langhoff, Mauro Gimenez and Hans Roth will join its Houston office. Langhoff comes to the Houston office from Russell Reynolds' New York office and is a senior member of the firm's corporate officers sector. Gimenez is joining Russell Reynolds as an executive director and member of its industrial/natural resources sector; he spent the last six years at McKinsey & Company. Roth comes to Russell Reynolds as an associate; he was previously with the Boston Consulting Group.

The Jacobson Group announced Joyce Dunn joined the company as engagement manager to manage C-level, VP and other executive-level searches in the insurance industry. Dunn has more than 30 years of experience in insurance and business. The Jacobson Group is a staffing and search firm based in Chicago.

Jackson Healthcare, a provider of healthcare staffing and other healthcare services, named Len Garrison as director of health and wellness. Garrison has previously served as corporate wellness director for Toyota (South Region) and as athletic supervisor for the Atlanta Athletic Club. Garrison has also authored books on health and wellness including "Stop and Think." He will oversee the fitness center at Jackson's Alpharetta corporate headquarters.

Vaco Technology hired Erik Burton to serve as client service director to focus on the placement of technology professional in the Los Angeles area. Burton has 12 years of experience in the staffing industry.
