Petroplan, a recruitment firm targeting the oil and gas industry, appointed Huw Rothwell as regional director for Houston. Rothwell previously spent 16 years with Michael Page, including 13 years in the US.

AlphaStaff, a professional employer organization based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., promoted Jason Holbrook to director of client implementation services, responsible for all aspects of onboarding new PEO clients. Holbrook in the past decade has held many roles within AlphaStaff. The company also hired Wayne Yingling for its business development team in the Southeast region. Yingling most recently built sales infrastructure at TriNet as director of channel development.

Executive search firm Korn Ferry International Inc. (NYSE: KFY) hired Max Landsberg as a senior partner in the leadership and talent consulting practice in Korn Ferry’s London office. Landsberg previously was a partner at McKinsey & Company. He has also served as a leadership coach and consultant and written guidebooks on coaching, motivation and leadership.

Lucas Group, an Atlanta-based executive search firm, promoted Spears Latimore to executive senior partner in the firm’s military transition division. Latimore joined Lucas Group’s military transition division in 2009 and places junior military officers, non-commissioned officers and degreed military engineers.

The Caldwell Partners (TSX: CWL), a Toronto-based executive search firm with operations in Canada and the U.S., announced John Blank joined the firm as a partner in the life sciences and healthcare practice. He will be based in Nashville. Blank has more than 16 years of executive search experience in the life sciences and healthcare industry.

Advanced Resources, a Chicago staffing agency, announced Paul Shanahan joined its leadership team as managing director of the firm’s healthcare division. Shanahan has 10 years’ staffing experience in the Chicago market, including as a regional vice president with Adecco.

HFS Consultants, a healthcare management and financial solutions company, named Sandy Haskins as managing director of the firm’s executive search and interim placement practice area. Haskins joined HFS in 2009 and most recently spent two years as the interim CEO of a hospital.

The Frey Consulting Group hired Executive Recruiter Susan Theard to focus exclusively on IT placements, a segment it previously exited to concentrate on the engineering and accounting sectors. Theard previously worked for an Oracle consulting firm and ran her own recruiting business.
