New online job ads for computer specialists posted over the past 120 days are up 19 percent year over year, according to Wanted Technologies, which tracks online job postings.

Companies are experiencing a talent shortage in computer specialist occupations, Wanted reports. The company found nearly 10,000 ads for computer specialists in the United States that have been posted for more than 90 days.

"Hiring demand for IT professionals has shown real improvement over the past year," said Bruce Murray, CEO and president. "However, many of these positions are going unfilled for long periods of time. There is clearly a mismatch in talent supply and demand in many markets."
