Novo Group appoints new president and CEO in wake of acquisition

August 31, 2015

The Novo Group, a recruitment firm headquartered in Milwaukee, acquired an HR consulting firm and named its founder as president and CEO.

Nora Group acquired inVantage, a Milwaukee HR consulting firm launched this year, and named its founder, Kelly Renz, as president and CEO of The Novo Group, effective last week. Renz replaces Jack Johnsey, who is leaving the firm.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed, and the inVantage brand will not remain.

“As we move forward, Kelly Renz brings us outstanding HR, recruiting and leadership skills and she will help us to expand the solutions we offer our clients,” said Novo founder and Chairman Mike Harris. “Kelly was just getting started building inVantage, and I am pleased we could combine operations now and bring her energy, network and experience to Novo.”

Before starting inVantage in 2015, Renz was the VP of organizational effectiveness for CoreLogic and the chief human resources officer for Decision Insight Information Group/Marshall & Swift/Boeckh before it was acquired by CoreLogic in 2014. She also held executive and HR leadership roles with Cielo, AQS, Clifton Gunderson and Target.

Renz’s experience includes international recruiting, RPO models, recruitment strategy, talent planning and recruitment systems and tools.

“Kelly has an excellent background to lead Novo as she has built and delivered on major recruitment efforts around the globe for some leading organizations,” Harris said.

Renz expects the core business of Novo will remain rooted in talent acquisition, but she plans to introduce other services including consulting and advising on recruitment strategy, employment branding, onboarding and development of talent once they are hired into the company.

Novo, launched in 2003, is headquartered in Milwaukee with offices in Chicago, St. Louis, Atlanta and Dallas.
