Nevada's jobless rate highest for third month

Nevada posted the highest jobless rate among all states for the third month in a row in July with an unemployment rate of 14.3% -- up from 14.2% in June, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today.

Michigan registered the second-highest jobless rate in July at 13.1% -- down from 13.2% in June. California recorded the third-highest jobless rate in July at 12.3%, unchanged from the previous month.

North Dakota posted the lowest unemployment rate among states at 3.6%. South Dakota reported the second-lowest at 4.4%. It was followed by Nebraska at 4.7%.
