Nelson revenue up 26% in 2014

March 24, 2015

The Nelson Family of Companies, a staffing provider based in Sonoma, Calif., reported full-year 2014 revenue rose 26% to $199 million from $158 million in the prior year.

Key drivers to organic growth were contract staffing, direct placement and robust sales from the Nelson Compliance and iWorkGlobal divisions, which provide independent contractor services and global payrolling.

“Organizations are facing an acute shortage of skills globally and when it comes to overcoming this shortage, there is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach,” said CEO Donna Farrugia. “At Nelson, we understand that every organization has its own unique requirements and we’ve been successful in fulfilling our clients’ workforce needs, even in a tight labor market, offering a wide range of services, from contract employment to direct hire, to 1099 compliance and global payrolling.”

“Globalization and automation have changed workplace needs forever,” said Chairman Craig Nelson. “The growing demand and limited supply of talent is placing immense pressure on organizations. In order to stay competitive, companies need to have an aggressive recruiting strategy while continuing to train their current workforce. Nelson has successfully partnered with organizations to help solve these challenges even in a tight labor market, as evidenced by our strong growth.”

Founded in 1970, Nelson operates locations throughout the West Coast and Southwest. Targeted sectors include technology, engineering, accounting and finance, digital media, manufacturing, administration, legal, human resources, and wine and beverage.
