Maxim Healthcare Services Inc. appointed Christopher “Chris” Powell as chief operating officer for the Maxim Staffing Solutions division. He will be responsible for overseeing, developing and setting the strategic direction for the day-to-day operations of the division.

With Maxim for almost 13 years, Powell most recently served as regional accounts manager for the Central region where he was responsible for the leadership and business development of the offices throughout the mid-west.

“Since joining Maxim in 2000, Chris has been a dynamic, thought-provoking leader with a proven track record,” said CEO Brad Bennett. “His experience and expertise is not only strengthening our staffing division but is helping us build the infrastructure we need to grow and become the number one staffing provider in every market we serve.”

Maxim is based in Columbia, Md., and ranks as the sixth-largest healthcare staffing firm in the U.S.
