ManpowerGroup names new board member

December 16, 2014

ManpowerGroup Inc.’s (NYSE: MAN) appointed Paul Read, president and chief operating officer of Ingram Micro Inc., to the company’s board of directors.

In his role at Ingram Micro, a technology distributor and supply-chain services provider headquartered in Santa Ana, Calif., Read is responsible for the worldwide IT distribution business and associated logistics support organizations. He was named to the position in September 2013. Read previously served on Ingram Micro’s board and served as chief financial officer for Flextronics Inc., an electronics manufacturing services provider. Before joining Flextronics in 1995, Read held various senior financial positions in the UK with Allied Steel and Wire, STI Telecommunications and Associated British Foods.

ManpowerGroup last week reported board member Marc Bolland will step down effective Feb. 11. Bolland was recently elected to the board of The Coca-Cola Company.

“Paul is an outstanding fit for our board. He brings a wealth of international experience in a highly demanding, competitive environment,” said Executive Chairman Jeffrey Joerres. “Our board is confident that Paul’s track record in financial and IT management will be a great asset to ManpowerGroup on our path forward.”

As a non-employee director of the company, Read will participate in the same compensation arrangement as the other nonemployee directors, which currently consists of a cash retainer equal to $85,000 per year and reimbursement for travel expenses incurred in connection with attending meetings. In addition, Read also received a prorated annual grant of 75 shares of deferred stock.

Staffing Industry Analysts ranks ManpowerGroup as the third-largest global staffing firm and the fourth largest in the US.
