June 06, 2014

Longtime staffing industry veteran Jerry Block passed away on May 20, just short of his 87th birthday.

Jerry Block began his staffing career with Volt Information Sciences Inc. in the 1950’s and helped create the technical staffing foundation at Volt, continuing his career there until 1993. He retired from Volt in 1993 and joined his son Monte Block at Rotator Staffing Services Inc.

“There he continued his legacy, right until his last day, helping build a quality organization, guiding the management team, and mentoring and teaching the business to over 100 in house employees,” Monte Block said.

He was an originator and supporter of the National Technical Services Association with a select group of industry professionals.

“His legacy was to be creative, innovative, and had the reputation of being the go-to guy for clients with issues and situations that needed complex solutions,” his son said. “His list of accomplishments and success are endless.”

He leaves behind his wife, Barbara; his son Monte, CEO of Rotator Staffing Services, and wife Linda, CEO of ISSI; and three grandchildren, Bradley, Shannon and Jourdan, all working for Rotator.
