List of Largest U.S. Staffing Firms Now Online

July 09 2012

The list of largest U.S. staffing firms was released today by Staffing Industry Analysts. The annual list includes all staffing firms with $100 million or more in 2011 U.S. staffing revenue. Here are the top five largest firms in the U.S.:

  1. Allegis Group, 2011 U.S. staffing revenue $7.06 billion, market share 6.0 percent
  2. Adecco, 2011 U.S. staffing revenue $4.49 billion, market share 3.8 percent
  3. Randstad Holding, 2011 U.S. staffing revenue $4.19 billion, market share 3.6 percent
  4. ManpowerGroup, 2011 U.S. staffing revenue $4.09 billion, market share 3.5 percent
  5. Kelly Services, 2011 U.S. staffing revenue $3.15 billion, market share 2.7 percent

“Added together, the 100 companies on the list of U.S. largest staffing firms represented 53 percent of the U.S. market, based on their 2011 revenues,” said Timothy Landhuis, research analyst at Staffing Industry Analysts. “This percentage stayed the same from last year’s list, which also represented 53 percent of the market by our estimates. This implies that as a group, the largest U.S. firms grew at about the same pace as the industry as a whole. Since we estimate that the U.S. staffing market grew a robust 14 percent in 2011, this growth appears to have been shared equally by both the larger and smaller half of the industry as ranked by firm size.”

In addition, Landhuis said, “Also notable in this year’s list is that two of the 10 largest U.S. staffing firms completed a significant acquisition. Randstad Holding is now the third largest, after acquiring SFN Group. Recruit Co. Ltd. is now the seventh-largest U.S. staffing firm, after acquiring Advantage Resourcing and Staffmark in 2011.”
