ICon hires former Randstad exec Teresa Creech as CEO

May 06, 2015

ICon Professional Services named Teresa Creech as CEO. Creech comes to ICon from Randstad Sourceright where she was group president.

“I’m joining a phenomenal leadership team here at ICon,” Creech said. “ICon is on an aggressive growth path toward playing an even greater role in the total talent management spectrum. I look forward to contributing to this momentum as the progression of the independent contractor workforce continues.”

Based in Foster City, Calif., ICon provides independent contract compliance and payrolling services.

Creech said the company will continue to aggressively grow its core technology and service solutions. In addition, opportunities at the intersection of MSP and RPO are more ripe than ever.

And the independent contractor compliance space is continuing to become more complex.

For companies, “outsourcing intelligence and best practices around those issues that constantly change is not going away anytime soon; those are core functions that we will continue to deliver with excellence,” Creech said.

Creech had been at Randstad since December 2010. As group president, she led the MSP, independent contractor compliance, payroll, sales effectiveness and integrated talent management teams. She served in an executive capacity at KellyOCG prior to Randstad. She has also appeared on the Staffing 100 list of most influential people in the staffing industry.

“Demand continues to grow for holistic solutions across the talent spectrum,” said ICon President and COO Dana Shaw. “With Teresa at the helm, ICon has the opportunity to build and deliver solutions that access talent in ways we haven’t done before. When you connect the right solutions sets, companies optimize their workforce and do not have to succumb to talent shortages and other risks. I’m thrilled that Teresa will be leading us as our new CEO and driving the value we deliver to our clients.”

Serent Capital acquired a majority stake in ICon Professional Services in February. Terms were not disclosed. Founder and CEO Patricia Griffin also still holds a minority stake in the firm.

The US contractor payrolling market is estimated at $11 billion based on 2013 spend, according to Staffing Industry Analysts.
