Third-quarter net income at Heidrick & Struggles International Inc. (NASD: HSII) rose 44.7%. The Chicago-based search firm posted net income of $16.1 million, compared with $11.2 million in the third quarter of 2006.

Revenue rose 29.6% to $169.6 million in the third quarter from $130.9 million in the same period last year. The company said foreign currency exchange rates had a positive impact on revenue.

The company said its Americas revenue rose 20.8% to $82.0 million. Americas operating income rose 15.2% to $17.2 million.

Shares in Heidrick rose 9.52% to $43.49 in late morning trading.
