Human resources specialist is the top temp occupation for 2014, according to Economic Modeling Specialists International research released by Link Staffing Services. HR temp jobs are projected to rise 5 percent in 2014 and pay a median of $26.96 per hour.

The list is comprised of occupations in the temporary help services industry that are projected to grow by at least three times the projected rate of all job growth, have more than 20,000 projected temporary workers employed by year end, and pay more than $16 per hour.

The top temp occupations, total temp jobs and hourly earnings for 2014 include:

• Human resources specialists: 58,016, up 5 percent; $26.96
• Machinists: 20,277, up 5 percent; $18.95
• Heavy and tractor-trailer truck drivers: 21,264, up 3 percent; $18.09
• Maintenance and repair workers, general: 26,021, up 3 percent; $16.93
• Inspectors, testers, sorters, samplers, and weighers: 24,276, up 3 percent; $16.72
• Bookkeeping, accounting, and auditing clerks: 26,154, up 3 percent; $16.92
• Licensed practical and licensed vocational nurses: 37,895, up 3 percent; $20.04
• Registered nurses: 59,632, up 3 percent; $31.40
• Sales representatives, services, all other: 19,861, up 3 percent; $24.26
